This Thanksgiving and “Wilcox Wednesday” (aka Wednesday Thanksgiving) did not fail to turn out the memories. Sometimes it’s best to just listen, and you truly realize how crazy, funny, and weird your family is, and you still love them. Here are some of my favorite quotes from family members this weekend:
5 and 1/2 year old cousin AJ:
”I can-a speak-a in an Italian accent! I wasn’t actually speaking Italian, I was just speaking in an accent. I’m good at accents.” (As he raises his hand in an Italian gesture)
My mom as she was searching/referring to her rubber earring back:
“I need more rubbers for Christmas!”
My grandma retelling her story of meeting my grandfather:
“I was thirteen and a half okay?!”
Pick up line for men: “My mom just baked seventeen apple pies.”
“And that’s how I got him. The way to a man’s heart is though his stomach.”
My mom on my Grandma’s 61st Birthday party this weekend:
“Cooking didn’t come easily to Cindy”
Aunt Cindy’s response:
“I would just make a baked potato with spaghetti sauce because it was just me and we was po’!”
Mom: “Mom, Bryanna says that scientists are saying that people alive at sixty now are supposed to live to be one-hundred and twenty.”
Grandma: “NO.”
Mom yet again trying to figure out eggs:
“Is it pronounced “eh-ggs” or “Aigs”?
The both of us back and fourth:
“AIGS!”
“Ehggs”
“AIGS”
“Ehggs”
And that’s all you need to know about my family! But really, my crazy wonderful family may say some strange slightly concerning things, but I still love each and every nut in the hazelnut farm.
